We’re so excited that spring has arrived! To celebrate the coming of a new growing season, Farm and Dairy wants to see the beautiful blooms, vibrant colors, amazing landscapes, yummy vegetables and, yes, even the pesky wild critters in your family’s garden.

Submit your garden photos throughout this spring and summer to our Bloomin’ Crazy photo gallery.

All of your photos will be featured on our website. A few lucky, gardeners will have their garden pictures printed in Farm and Dairy.

We encourage you to get a creative as you’d like, but please don’t submit photos that have been highly manipulated. Keep things simple.

Don’t forget to tell us your name and location, and what’s in your picture(s), our readers would love to know what those wonderful flowers or fruits are called.

You can email photos to (please use “Bloomin’ Crazy” in the subject line).

Or you can also mail photos to: Bloomin Crazy, c/o Farm and Dairy, P.O. Box 38, Salem, OH 44460 (photos will not be returned unless a self-addressed, stamped envelope is included). Or visit to submit your photos on our website!

The Social Silo is the new “social face” of the newspaper Farm and Dairy. We want to be a community blog about the rural world. About manure. About county fair prize-winning pie recipes. Just not in the same sentence. We want to foster communication between farmers and nonfarmers, to share different perspectives, to make us all think and grow a little. We want to ask questions, and listen to your answers.
