Here at the Social Silo, we don’t normally feature juice recipes. This week, however, we thought we’d give our readers something to help kick them out of bed in the morning. We actually found this recipe on Foodnetwork.com.

Ingredients:

  • 5 to 6 ounces of baby spinach leaves
  • 2 apples, halved and cored
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 celery sticks
  • 1/2 large lemon
  • One 2-inch piece of ginger, peeled
  • Ice

Directions:

Pass the spinach, apples, carrots, celery, lemon juice and ginger through a juice maker, according to the manufacturer’s directions. Pour the juice into 2 ice-filled glasses and serve.

Notes:

Having juiced quite a bit in our day, we have to warn you against using too much ginger. A little bit of ginger goes a very long way. Also, if you’d like to make a summer treat from your juice, simply pour it into an ice cube tray and insert toothpicks. Instant popsicles.

Here at The Social Silo we only pick from the best recipes to share with our readers. We encourage readers to submit their own recipes. New discoveries, tasty experiments or even old family favorites; we want to see them! Heck, we may even ask you to write a guest blog post about the origin behind the dish. You never know! Also take the time to check out the recipes at our sister site The Farm and Dairy.
