fair photo contest

Some of my favorite memories growing up come from fairgrounds. We used to visit the Canfield Fair at least once a year. I’m convinced that the tradition was my father’s idea. He was always so interested in the livestock.

Those early days, when I took my first pony ride, tasted my first corndog and watched my first tractor pull, were special. There’s a sense of wonderment in a child’s eyes when they see the lights, smell the smells and hear the sounds of the midway. Unfortunately, my parents never had the foresight to bring a camera to capture those moments.

Now that I’m older, I find wonder in the huge variety of great food. I’m a food lover, any photo of me will back up that statement. When I visit a fair, I’m like a kid in a candy store. I’m not ashamed. I love to help myself to those lemon shakes, corndogs, gyros and fair fries. And now, with my cell phone, I can capture those moments because I’m always carrying a camera with me.

Farm and Dairy wants to help you share those special moments with others. We’re now hosting the Blue Ribbon Moments photo contest!

It’s easy: Take pictures at your county fair and send your favorite to us for your chance to win an $80 gift basket from Farm and Dairy (including a one-year subscription.) Each week Farm and Dairy will feature a weekly winner in our print product as well as online. Those weekly winner will then be entered to win the grand prize at the conclusion of the contest.

We’ll be taking submissions until October 25, so get snappin’!
