Is it summer yet?

I know, I know. How could I be asking this question in February?

I read a posting on Facebook asking why so many people are down in the dumps when it’s been such a mild winter in Ohio.

I think I figured out why! It’s because when it is snowing like crazy, we know we have to do our best to get through it in order to get to summer.

However, when it’s in the 40’s and even 50’s in January and February, we crave summertime even more, putting us in a bad mood!

It was so warm the one day I didn’t need a coat and was simply wearing a heavy sweatshirt while my nieces and I were working in the barn. How crazy is that? So the girls and I started talking about what we wanted to do this summer. Soon our minds were on one thing… riding horses. The trio was standing there telling me how they can’t wait to go trail riding and for the trees to turn green again. And who could blame them? It’s hard to think warmer temperatures could be that far away!

Then on my way home from work, the other day, it was light out still and my mind went to… truck pulls and county fairs! I thought to myself, it’s been five months since the Canfield Fair.

I guess no matter what the weather gives us, some of our minds just go to the shorts and outdoor activities.

For now, the weather is calling for a cold snowy weekend and our minds will have to get back to getting through the winter months so we can enjoy sunny, warm weather this summer.
